"Addressing alcohol and drug related issues: reducing harm and supporting positive change"
Adults & Families

Adults and Families

The majority of adults in Northern Ireland drink and some use drugs, and there is always a risk that this can lead to negative consequences, whether it is on your health, your mental health, relationships or in other ways. This particularly the case where these substances are used heavily  or over a prolonged period.

Also a person's drinking or drug use can have a real impact on the people around them, whether that is their partner, their children, other relations, friends or colleagues. If you are a parent you may also be concerned about your child using alcohol or drugs.

If you are concerned about your own use or that of another person you will find information here that can give you a better understanding of alcohol or drug use and where help and support is available.
