Train the Trainer: Trauma Sensitive Approaches to Practice

Eligibility: This Train the Trainer programme for anyone meeting the following criteria: This training is free of charge to anyone who has completed the level 1 or 2 training and works directly with children, young people, adults or families where ACEs are an issue. You must work for a Community & Voluntary Organisation to apply. If you are in another sector, contact The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland for details of upcoming awareness and training sessions. If you work for a Surestart, Barnardos, Action for Children or NSPCC any upcoming training will be delivered in house, so please consult with your organisation if you want information on when this is happening, as we are unable to offer a place on this training. A maximum of 2 places per organisation applies due to fewer training places available, so please consult with your colleagues to agree on who applies.

Outcomes

By the end of this two day programme you will: Have developed training skills and your continuous professional development by becoming a Trauma Informed Practice Trainer Be able to support your organisations consistency of common language and understand ACEs and trauma sensitive approaches contributing to a consistent practice across NI Be informed and confident to deliver a minimum of three L1 and L2 awareness programmes per year after attending this programme using the resource and guidance documents.

Relevance

Relevant to anyone working who has completed L1 or L2 training and works with children, families and/or adults who may be experiencing trauma as a result of childhood adversities.
