1 Day Training Course

Course content

This programme looks at

  •          How children and young people develop – adolescence vs. puberty

  •          The drugs that young people are choosing to use – what, why & how

  •          The underlying development of the brain at different stages and the impact that the early use/misuse of alcohol can have on this development – physically, mentally and emotionally

  •          Getting help & support – signposting to agencies and organisations

  • Who is this course for?

    If you are a practitioner working with young people, in a formal or informal youth based setting, or with families where young people are using drugs or at risk of substance misuse (including alcohol, solvents) this programme will be relevant.

    Accreditation?

    This course is validated by ASCERT. It does not carry external accreditation however it is DANOS mapped and as such can be used towards continuing professional development pathways.
