Level 3 in the Origins of a Drug

Course Length – 15 Hours

This course is delivered by FASA

Course content

  •         The origins and history of a specific substance and the category it falls into.

  •         The physiological and neurochemical effects of a specific substance on the brain and body.

  •         The impact of a specific substance on the individual, family & community.

  •         The implications of using and supplying a specific substance.

  • Who is this course for?

    This course is mainly for people working with clients that are misusing substances. It has been developed to explain the process of addiction both physically and psychologically. The course is made up of three Units:

  •        Effects of drugs on the human brain and body

  •        Treatments for drug users

  •        Key skills in working with drug users

  • This course takes an in depth at addiction and it is an entry requirement that participants have completed a Level 2 course.

    This training is FREE

    to people working in the Community & Voluntary Sector

    Accreditation?

    6 credits at OCN Level 3. This is comparable to NVQ3, A Level, AS Level and AVCE
