Course Length – 4 Days

Course content

The course aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health, dispel some of the myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health issues, and develop awareness of the rights of those with mental health issues.

  •         Raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health difficulties

  •         Dispel myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health issues

  •         Mental Health and Substance Misuse

  •         Rights of those with mental health issues

  •         Define the terms ‘mental health’ and ‘mental ill-health’

  •        Causes of mental health difficulties

  •        Examples of mental health problems

  •        Rights of people experiencing mental ill-health

  •        Suggest possible responses to mental health difficulties

  •        Referral agencies for further help or guidance

  •        Barriers to accessing services

  • Who is this course for?

    Community and voluntary organisations/groups, anyone working with young people/adults, womens groups, concerned parents, volunteers. Any member of the public who would be interested in learning about substance misuse issues

    This training is FREE

    to people working in the Community & Voluntary Sector and the general public.

    Accreditation?

    NCFE Level 1 is comparable to NVQ1, Intermediate GNVQ and GCSE grades A*-C.
