Level 1 in Community Drugs Awareness Training

Course Length – 2 Days or 15 Delivery Hours

Course content

The course aims to give participants a basic understanding of substance misuse issues

  •         Classification of drugs covered by the Misuse of Drugs Act

  •         Drug categories

  •         Drugs and the Law

  •         What drugs look like

  •         Signs and symptoms of drug use

  •        Causes of alcohol & drugs misuse

  •        Physical and psychological effects of alcohol & drugs misuse.

  •        Services offering help and information on drug misuse.

  • Who is this course for?

    Community and voluntary organisations/groups, anyone working with young people/adults, womens groups, concerned parents, volunteers. Any member of the public who would be interested in learning about substance misuse issues

    This training is FREE

    to people working in the Community & Voluntary Sector and the general public.

    Accreditation?

    7 credits at OCN Level 1. This is comparable to NVQ1, Intermediate GNVQ and GCSE grades A*-C.
