The course aims to give participants a basic understanding of substance misuse issues

        Classification of drugs covered by the Misuse of Drugs Act

        Drug categories

        Drugs and the Law

        What drugs look like

        Signs and symptoms of drug use

       Causes of alcohol & drugs misuse

       Physical and psychological effects of alcohol & drugs misuse.

       Services offering help and information on drug misuse.

Who is this course for?

Community and voluntary organisations/groups, anyone working with young people/adults, womens groups, concerned parents, volunteers. Any member of the public who would be interested in learning about substance misuse issues

This training is FREE

to people working in the Community & Voluntary Sector and the general public.

Accreditation?

7 credits at OCN Level 1. This is comparable to NVQ1, Intermediate GNVQ and GCSE grades A*-C.
