Gary is ASCERT's Director. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation, overseeing the day to day management of its services and for raising the resources needed to keep the services running.

Gary has been involved in the voluntary sector since 1987 and has extensive experience in the planning, delivery and management of community services, particularly in the substance misuse field. He has a particular interest in community development processes, provides mentoring support to a number of community-based organisations and is Chairman of Lisburn Community Network.

He has represented the voluntary sector on the Eastern Drug and Alcohol Co-ordination Team since 2003 and is currently its Chairman. Gary also is Chairman of Lisburn Drug and Alcohol Forum and was part of the team that recently developed the New Strategic Direction on Alcohol and Drugs for the Department of Health.
