Julie is a Training Officer for ASCERT. Most of the Training she runs at ASCERT is with young people aged around 12-25, these are education programmes around the dangers of substances. Drug misuse is a common factor in society today, and is on the increase among young people. The Census of Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services in Northern Ireland (2007) showed 5,583 people getting some form of help for drug misuse - a 10% increase since March 2005. Julies job at ASCERT is to provide young people with factual information about substances, which puts them in a position to make informed choices around drugs.
