John is ASCERT's Assistant Director. His responsibilities include the operational direction of the organisation, providing direct support and supervision to all operational staff to ensure quality of service.
John has over twenty five years of extensive experience in the management and social care field. He has worked with statutory, voluntary and community organisations working with Children and Young People with complex needs. John is a qualified trainer with experience in areas such as Adult Education, Child Protection and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
John is particularly interested in training and development of community groups, and is a strong advocate for community cascade training. He has held a number of Board appointments with community groups and was instrumental in the development of Intensive Bail Support for young people in Northern Ireland.
