Jean joined the LifeMatters Team in August 2008 as a Systemic Family Worker. Jean delivers family based interventions to young people who misuse alcohol and drugs and their families. Jean's work focuses not only on the young person, but also on familial and contextual factors that contribute to the young person's behaviour.
Jean qualified as a social worker in Montreal , Canada in 2002. She has an interest in anti-oppressive social work practises and has experience working in both voluntary and statutory sectors on issues such as HIV/AIDS, substance-misuse, forced migration and race relations. She has co-ordinated development projects for Street-Involved Aboriginal Canadians in Montreal and for asylum seekers and refugees in Northern Ireland .
