Amphetamines 'short-circuit' the Monoamine Neurotransmitters, Dopamine, Norepinephrine and Serotonin of the Brain, producing excessive activity in Potsynapic Neurons governed by the presence of those receptors in the Synapse. One of the effects of this is to produce a boost in confidence, or if you prefer, a Social Phobia. Amphetamines can change your personality, but not in the way you think. They can change your personality from being a normal well-adjusted person to being a Monomanic Amphetamine-seeking machine. Amphetamines are addictive, habit-forming and harmful. The greatest danger to your health is from mixing Amphetamines with Cocaine or Ecstasy. The first is an unlikely combination because they have such similar effects. This pairing brings a danger of increased toxicity and strain on the heart. Mixing with Ecstasy puts extra strain on the heart and you will be at risk of over-heating. It is possible to overdose on Amphetamines, which can lead to permanent damage or death. If you are using Amphetamines over long periods of time you are advised to take multi- vitamin and calcium supplements, as well as keeping a check on your body weight. Avoid injecting speed. This can damage your body and sharing needles can pass on diseases such as HIV. If you have Schizophrenic tendencies there are real dangers that even the mildest use of Speed could push you over the edge. Avoid mixing the use of other drugs with Amphetamines as it can have serious physical and psychological problems. Using Amphetamines when you're drinking Alcohol may make you feel less drunk and can increase the risk of unsafe driving or sex. Mixing Amphetamines and Alcohol can lead to increased aggression and violence. Sometimes people take other drugs as a way of coping with some of the unwanted affects of amphetamines, like sleeping tablets such as Diazepam or Tamazepam, this can be dangerous to your safety and health.
